As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I managed to squeeze a quick visit to The British Museum into my whirlwind trip to London.  Here are a couple of pics…

Well, I’m now back from my meeting in London and I’m shattered!  Traveling from Newcastle to London and back in the same day is very tiring – but it was worth the trip.

My meeting went very well.  I still don’t know what will come out of it, but I’m staying positive.  I also met up with my editor and went through some final notes for the fourth Scream Street book, Flesh of the Zombie.  We also spent some time on the map of Scream Street that will appear in each of the books, discussing who lives where, and which routes are taken in the various adventures.

I even found time to drop into one of my favourite London attractions – The British Museum.  When I lived in London, I would often spend time there writing, and I was delighted to see that it was proving to be as popular with tourists as ever.

So, here I am – back at my desk, tired but happy!  Just two months until Scream Street launches now…

I’m heading south to London today for a big meeting!  I can’t tell you much about it except that, if it comes off, it will be very exciting indeed.

I’m delighted to announce that I’ve signed the contract to write a book called ‘Zombie!’ for Barrington Stoke, a publisher that specialises in books for struggling and dyslexic readers.

The book is due out around October 2009.

I’m delighted to announce that one of the books I wrote for Egmont’s Too Ghoul For School series – Terror In Cubicle Four – came in second place at this year’s Gateshead Children’s Book Award.

In first place was Jeremy Strong with Beware: Killer Tomatoes, and I just beat Derek Landy into third place with his superb Skulduggery Pleasant.  As I’m a big fan of both of those authors, I’m delighted to be included in the top three alongside them.

In the fourth Scream Street book, Flesh of the Zombie, the world’s greatest undead rock festival – Deadstock – comes to Scream Street.  The headlining band are Brain Drain, who delight their fans with a new song – Zombie Feasting Time.
