I had an INCREDIBLE day at Wycliffe Primary School in Shipley yesterday, where I ran creative writing workshops for some of the most enthusiastic Scream Street fans I’ve ever met!  The entire school was Scream Street crazy, as you can see by this fang-tastic display of writing work in the hall…

Many thanks to Mrs Oakes for arranging everything, and for passing on these comments from staff and pupils…

‘A sheer joy’ was one comment from our teaching staff.  Another came out the workshop session with a beaming smile saying ‘wow!’

I would highly recommend booking the author, Tommy Donbavand – he is thoroughly entertaining; delivering for children an interactive workshop and for staff
helpful hints and tips to help inspire ideas for writing.  I suppose you could call it a workshop and INSET all-in-one!

It has been wonderful seeing even struggling readers clinging to books in the Scream Street series and from this, children wanting to set up their own book club.

The parents were thrilled with the way Tommy spent time with the children, valuing their contributions, building on their ideas and remembering their names, even after a long book signing session!
